I’m
not sure if I’m ready for winter. It’s getting colder in
Indianapolis and, thanks to Daylight Savings, its dark by 6:30pm.
I definitely prefer the warmer climates and like to have more daylight in the evenings to enjoy it.
That gives me a prize to have my eye on, doesn’t it? To live the
free, fulfilling life I desire in the places I want to be.
My friend and fellow coach, Jeannette Maw, reminded me recently that we
live in an AND universe. Many times, we limit ourselves to think we can
have either or, when we can, in fact, have it all. The only limits on
us are those we put upon ourselves.

It Really Is All About You
At the beginning of a coaching session, I always start with an energetic clearing, followed by setting of intentions.
My coaching clients always have a response when they hear that the
coaching time is all about them. The reason is that they are simply not
used to thinking and feeling that way.
In the coaching space you are held as whole, powerful, complete and
perfect. When was the last time you thought of yourself as that?
It’s not egotistical or prideful to recognize your own greatness.
It’s merely recognition of what is. After all – if you
don’t see yourself as great, how do you think others will see you?
It’s a simple truth that you must see yourself in the same light that you want others to see you in.
You are the key component to all that you do. Whether it’s your
family, your relationship, your life or your business, they all have
the same core component – you.
And, your success & performance in any area of your life correlates with how well you take care of yourself. On all levels.
If a 30-minute time out for self-care positions you to be fully present
with your family for the rest of the evening, is that a selfish act?
How often do you commit all your time to everyone else and then have
none left for you? What happens when you get sick or burned out and are
not able to be there for those around you?
It is all about you. The most loving thing you can do for those you love is to love yourself first.
Although everyone has their own goals and visions, the end result typically is living the ideal life that you want to be living.
When you are clear on what you want, and connect with it on a regular
basis, you derive purpose and passion that will support you in the
actions and shifts that you must make in order to achieve it.
And, the clearer you are on who you are and where you are going, the
more you will intuitively know whether something is a fit for you or
not. If you have ever had feelings that something isn’t quite
right, that’s your intuition telling you that something is out of
alignment.
It is a given that you will have some periods where others in your life
don’t quite agree with you being you. You now have a choice. You
acquiesce and shift into being someone you’re not, or doing that
which is not optimal for you. Or, you stay true to who you are and live
your life out of that space.
After all, if you’re not being you, who are you being?
Be you – and be great.
